Very cute game. I always enjoy original ideas and this was nicely done. I do have a few suggestions for future games. The jump distance is bizzarly large for such close together platforms making a majority of my game time spent waiting for the marine to drop onto the platform like a big line tetris block, this broke the flow of the game some what and platforming is all about flow.

Also although the premise is cute more could have been made of the hugging, maybe an in situ animation, rather than letting us run past them then putting up a picture, or a boss "fight" of some kind where you convince it you're not trying to kill it.

Congrats though on a great game especially as you're just starting out.

Totally agree - I initially wanted a hug button, actually, but my expertise (made this in Stencyl, hence why it's passable) meant that in a time limit of a month I was stuck with collision issues and a lack of knowledge that meant I went for the simpler option. Will put what I've learned here into future projects, and I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Good with some downsides

I really like this idea. the animation is nice and there don't seem to be any bugs.

One big problem: The Controls

you use the mouse a fair amount for this game and using the mouse to draw and the arrows keys to move is well it's a b****h to be honest

My suggestion,
draw = mouse
move = WASD
attacks = mouse clicks
OR
attacks = ZXC

Otherwise a really great game and I would love to carry on playing if the controls change.

Now the movements are so ;) hope you'll continue on playing it now ! :P

Some Ideas . . . sorry many ideas

Firstly I wanted to say that I did sort of like this game. It was a bit slow especially at night but overall not bad, I like the idea for the final boss too.

Here are my ideas for improvements, not really in any order.

1. Correct the spelling mistake in the title. It should be hero's not heroes if you are going to use it again.
2. The number of Rubeesin the mailbox is wrong, it says 20 but you get 15.
3. Scrap the day and night concept. It's a good idea but it just makes you go slower and gets annoying as it moves to quickly.
4. The cursor thing in shops is a bit annoying seeing as evertyhing else is done by keyboard and you have to move the cursor over the thing you want to buy.
5. To be able to attack whilst moving would be a definate improvement.
6. Change the currency . seriously it's obviously based on Zelda but theres no need to shove it in out face with the rubees, if your going to do that we might as well be trying to save a prince called Velda.
(to all zelda fan's it was a joke and I do know the princess is zelda, I'm a big fan)
7. On this note don't include sailing in the next one. Unless your gonna make a completely new experience it's just gonna be another thing you've got from zelda and phantom hourglass was too awesome to be copied.
8.It's a bit buggy with the blacksmith apparating (HarryPotter) to his workstation rather than walking and getting stuck in walls occasionally.
9. Add a Save feature if it's going to be a longer quest it really helps.
10. Keep the animation for the sequel I like RPG which is mainly a Zelda copy.
11. Really annoying starting at your house when you die. Funnily enough I think you should be more like Zelda here by starting outside the dungeon.
12. If your going to have a potions shop have some potions in it. Whats the point of getting money from pots and monsters if there is nothing useful to buy.

Sorry for so many suggestions but it really is constructive I hope. If you want to ask anything or want any help or even voice acting if you feel like it.

All sounds great and i will definately use some of your suggestions.

Extremely Clever

Love this game. It's very short but that is to be expected with stop motion animation. Love the ending too :)

xLite responds:

Thanks :D

I liked it

It was pretty easy because you didn't select which item you where using you just held one at a time but i liked it. The music made it pretty creepy to be honest the stuff in the basement and cell was made scary because of it really but still very good.

JunkYardAnimations responds:

hehe awesome. the music really adds to it for sure, im glad i found those songs

I agree

Very good game and i like the added upgrades as an idea.
I think that a continue button would be geat.

CLOUND responds:

Thanks,
will take this into account.

I live these

Nice game. Very like the originals. I still can't get past that "read the question" one. i get whats missing but i don't know what to press. oh well

Hi5er responds:

hmmm...

cant help ya dude x]

just read it carefully... originally that message wasnt in there :P

Exactly what it says on the tin

Nice egg hunt.
Just ont point it might be nicer if the total score was out of something. i only know from reviews that i got 52/52 but it just said 52.

Completly Random

I think it's meant to be funny or a glitch not sure, and thats the problem i'm not sure if it's a joke or not, if it is it's not very funny and if it's not thats one hell of a glitch

MaximizedWindowClock responds:

Yeah, it's a glitch. You have to vote 5 to make it work. Sorry, there is no way to fix this as of now.
